Can you play Scarface: The World Is Yours in your browser?
Partly. Play! gets Scarface: The World Is Yours into gameplay, but the tracker lists major bugs that prevent playing it through. Use our browser emulator. Keep in mind that the tracker covers Play! on every platform, and its browser version is described by the project as an experiment, so results in a browser can be worse than on a desktop.

Which Scarface: The World Is Yours disc should you use?
The Play! tracker lists one disc for this game: the NTSC-U release, serial SLUS-21111, reported as In-game. The latest test is dated September 11, 2022, with the Play! commit linked on the issue. The tester noted that rendering looked almost free of problems on the Vulkan renderer but that the game ran too slowly to try going down the stairs. The issue is also tagged with the tracker's idledetection label.
A later comment on the same issue says OpenGL output is broken while Vulkan draws nearly everything correctly, and that the game is very slow without high EE usage. Nothing is listed for the PAL release, so there is no tracker evidence to compare. Because the tracker covers Play! on all platforms, results in a browser may be worse than what these reports describe.

About Scarface: The World Is Yours (PS2)
Radical Entertainment built Scarface: The World Is Yours, a sandbox crime adventure that Vivendi Games published in 2006 for PlayStation 2, Xbox and Windows. A Wii edition with improved graphics arrived the following year. The game draws on the 1983 film Scarface, which Oliver Stone wrote and Brian De Palma directed, but it does not retell the movie. It plays out as a loose sequel in which Tony Montana survives the finale and sets out to rebuild his drug empire in Miami, Florida, and to get even with the people who pushed him out.
The game uses Al Pacino's likeness for Montana, yet Pacino did not record the voice. He and the producers felt it had changed too much since 1983, so André Sogliuzzo, a performer Pacino picked personally, took the role. Steven Bauer, Robert Loggia and Al Israel, all from the original film, also lent their voices. Wikipedia describes the reception as moderately positive, with reviewers often measuring it favorably against two Grand Theft Auto games and singling out its humor and its faithful tone. It reports sales above two million units across every platform.

How Scarface: The World Is Yours plays
The World Is Yours is played from a third-person view in an open city, with Tony Montana trying to win back Miami's drug trade, wipe out rival gangs and rebuild his name. Wikipedia places its basic mechanics in the Grand Theft Auto mold: you move on foot, take cars and boats, talk with bystanders, and run main missions and smaller side jobs with a wide range of weapons, from pistols to a rocket launcher and a chainsaw. One departure is that Tony refuses to kill innocent people, and a car strike on a bystander only injures them. Later you gain associates, such as a driver, an arms dealer and an enforcer, and you can switch control to most of them.
Shooting can use lock-on or manual aim, and manual hits on specific body parts earn more of the "balls" that fill a meter. A full meter unlocks Blind Rage, a slow-motion first-person mode with automatic aim and unlimited ammo. Progress is organized around four districts, starting in Little Havana and moving on through Downtown, South Beach and North Beach. Each must be fully controlled before the next opens for missions, which means buying fronts, eliminating rival gangsters and handling cocaine deals.
Money and attention add pressure. Cash on hand is dirty money and is lost if Tony dies or is arrested, so it has to be laundered at a bank. Cop heat and gang heat are always active and affect bank fees and drug prices, and a timing minigame governs negotiations, intimidation and bribes.

Scarface: The World Is Yours emulator FAQ
Is there a Scarface: The World Is Yours website to play online?
We are not aware of an official way to play Scarface: The World Is Yours online. What exists are browser-based PS2 emulators, such as Play!.js, that run a disc image of the game you own. We do not host or link to game files.
Do I need a PS2 BIOS to run Scarface: The World Is Yours?
Not with Play!. It emulates the PS2 system software at a high level, so no BIOS file is required.
Which version of Scarface: The World Is Yours works best in a browser emulator?
Only the NTSC-U disc, serial SLUS-21111, appears on the Play! tracker, and it is marked In-game rather than Playable. The report describes very slow speed. Browser results may differ, since the tracker covers the Play! emulator on all platforms.
Who made Scarface: The World Is Yours?
Radical Entertainment developed it and Vivendi Games published it in 2006. It was made for PlayStation 2, Xbox and Windows, and a Wii version with enhanced graphics followed in 2007.
Is the game a retelling of the Scarface film?
No. It is described as a broad sequel rather than a direct adaptation. The story changes the film's ending so that Tony Montana survives, then follows his effort to take back his drug empire in Miami.
Does Al Pacino voice Tony Montana in the game?
No. The game uses Pacino's likeness, but André Sogliuzzo voices Montana. Pacino chose him personally, since Pacino and the producers felt his own voice had changed too much since the 1983 film.
Was there a sequel to Scarface: The World Is Yours?
No sequel was released. Wikipedia says Vivendi's president talked about a multigame franchise in 2005, but a second game was absent from Activision Blizzard's list after the rights moved in 2008, and a later project called Scarface: Empire only appeared as leaked footage.
Can I save my progress in the browser?
In the browser version, saves are kept only in memory while the page is open, so they are lost when you close or reload it. That applies to the emulator generally, but the tracker reports very slow speed for this disc.
