Can you play Star Wars: Battlefront in your browser?
Yes, with a disc image you own. Play! reports Star Wars: Battlefront as fully playable, and Play! runs in a browser. Use our browser emulator. Keep in mind that the tracker covers Play! on every platform, and its browser version is described by the project as an experiment, so results in a browser can be worse than on a desktop.

Which Star Wars: Battlefront disc should you use?
The Play! tracker has one report for this game, covering the NTSC-U disc (SLUS-20898). It is marked Playable and was tested on April 18, 2025, with the note that it is fully playable with good performance but should run faster because of a vector unit (VU) bottleneck.
No PAL disc has been reported on the tracker, so only the NTSC-U result is available. This is a recent test with a recent Play! build, which makes it more useful than an old one, but the tracker covers Play! on every platform, so a browser may be slower than the entry suggests. The online modes are not part of what the tracker note describes.
What testers reported for Star Wars: Battlefront
Notes from the volunteers who tested Star Wars: Battlefront on Play! and filed the tracker reports. They describe the emulator at the time of each test; newer builds may behave differently, and the browser version can perform worse than desktop.

Star Wars: Battlefront controls in the browser emulator
Play!.js is played with the keyboard. Its default layout maps the PS2 controller like this; the browser build sets up no gamepad bindings by default. Click the game screen once before you start: the emulator listens for key presses on its game screen, so keys only register while it has focus.

How Star Wars: Battlefront plays
Four factions fight: the Galactic Republic and the Confederacy of Independent Systems come from the prequels, while the Rebel Alliance and the Galactic Empire come from the original films. Each faction has five character classes. Four are shared (infantry, heavy weapons, pilot and sniper) and one is unique. Each side also has a non-playable hero who joins the fight for a limited time: Count Dooku, Mace Windu, Luke Skywalker and Darth Vader.
Play is built around conquest. Every faction has a finite number of reinforcements and controls a set number of command posts. You win by wiping out the enemy or by holding every command post at once for 20 seconds. Ground and air vehicles, from the AT-AT to the speeder bike, are available, and some larger ones act as mobile command posts. Wikipedia counts more than 25 vehicles. Some maps also have native forces, such as Jawas, Wookiees or Tusken Raiders.
Three single-player modes exist. Campaign strings battles together in order, loosely modeled on the Clone Wars era or the Galactic Civil War era, depending on your side. Galactic Conquest is a turn-based strategy layer where you take over planets, using planet bonuses and a powerful Secret Base bonus. Instant Action lets you pick a battle and adjust settings such as reinforcements. The PlayStation 2 version supports online play for 16 players, or split screen for two, though the GameSpy servers it relied on were shut down in November 2012.
