Which Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 2 disc should you use?
The Play! tracker has one report for this game, covering the NTSC-U disc (SLUS-21441). It is marked Playable and was tested on June 20, 2022. The note says it runs fully playable with good performance on Vulkan, while on OpenGL the textures are incorrect or black and the game runs much slower.
That makes the choice of graphics backend important if you want to compare. The tracker covers Play! on every platform, so it does not say which backend a browser build would use, and a browser may not match this result. No PAL or Japanese disc has been reported on the tracker, so only the NTSC-U disc has a recorded result.

It is the second installment of the series and the first to reach the Wii. According to Wikipedia, the PlayStation 2 release dates were October 5, 2006 in Japan, November 3 in Europe, November 7 in North America and November 9 in Australia.

On reception, Metacritic scores were described as average on both platforms, while X-Play gave the PlayStation 2 version its Best Fighting Game of the Year award. IGN's reviewer said the speed and complexity of the controls may put some people off, yet the combat comes down to two buttons, so the game is easy to learn and very hard to master.

How Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 2 plays
The series uses a behind-the-back third-person camera. Special forms of a character are treated as separate characters, each with its own stats, move set and fighting style. That is how the roster reaches 136 forms from 100 characters.
In battle, you build a Ki gauge and spend it on techniques. Power Guard cuts the damage a character takes, and the gauge also powers Blast 2 skills, the special moves unique to each character, such as Ki blasts. A separate self-recharging Blast Stock gauge pays for Blast 1 skills, which usually help by restoring health or immobilizing the enemy. Building Ki beyond full can trigger Max Power Mode at the cost of Blast Stock bars, making the fighter faster and stronger. The Ultimate Blast available in that mode is typically a fighter's strongest attack, but firing it, or any Blast 2 skill, ends the mode immediately.
Story mode recreates battles from the manga and from anime-only storylines. This installment includes what-if scenarios in which Raditz and Zarbon team up with the Z Fighters, and several levels show cutscenes before or after the fight. The World Tournament mode has three tournament levels plus a Cell Games mode, and characters are called for a ringout if they touch the ground after leaving the arena. Winning pays out money here, which is then spent on Z-Items.
