Try Again
Try Again is a physics platformer where you roll a ball through 70 levels that seem determined to stop you. Floors vanish, traps wait for a perfect moment, and levels can act differently on each attempt. The trick is memory: notice where dangers hide, find a safe rhythm and make it to the portal. Every tenth level brings a new zone and a boss level, and new ball colors unlock too.
How to play Try Again
- On a keyboard, roll with the arrow keys or A and D.
- Jump with Up, W or Space.
- Press Esc or P to pause.
- On touch screens, the left button rolls and the right button jumps.
- Reach the portal to finish.
Tips
- Remember where traps hide and look for the safe timing.
What we saw when we played Try Again
When we opened Try Again on October 15, 2026, the title screen showed a dark, starry night with silhouetted hills and pine trees. Under the glowing logo was a small preview strip of a ground line with red spikes, a white ball, a water gap, a block and a glowing oval portal. Buttons below read "Play" with "Level 1" under it, "Level Select", "Ball Color", "Music: On" and "Sound: On". A faint line at the bottom listed the controls: arrows to move, up arrow or Space to jump, Esc to pause.
After our clicks and key presses, the game was in level 1, and a red "TRY AGAIN" stamp covered the middle of the screen with a "press any key" prompt. The top-left counter read "Try #1" in one frame, then "Try #2", "Try #5" and "Try #6" in later ones, so our blind inputs kept ending the ball's run quickly. A small ball sat at the far left next to a red arrow, with a crack-like effect around it, while a short block, a water gap and a portal marked "reach the portal" waited to the right. There was a pause button in the top-right corner. Our frames matched the idea in the game's text that every death is a lesson, but we didn't see any later levels or boss zones.
